Organizational Setup

 Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio came into existance in 1971-72 and become fully operational in 1972-73.  Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio has an Organisational Set-up customised to meet its objectives of providing  very efficient and effective services to Prasar Bharati, Ministry of I & B (Other Media Units) and Other Client  Departments in the realms of both Construction and Maintenance of Buildings and Services throughout length and  breadth of the Country.

 Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio has been acknowledge and declared as public works organisation in terms of Rule 126(2) of the JFRs 2005 by Ministry of I & B,vide letter number 403/4/2003-B(D)(pt) dated 31-Jan-2008The organisation is now a major player in the field of Civil Construction and infrastructure development. The organisation is taking up and has successfully completed various project of Central Government organisations and public sector organisations.

The Organisation is headed by the Chief Engineer,  at the apex level. CCW Directorate is located at Soochna Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 3.  There are five Regions / Zones viz. North, West, South, East & North-East where Superintending Engineer level Officers are posted.

At HQ, Chief Engineer is assisted by two Superintending Engineer level Officers for works and one Superintending Engineer level Officer for Administrative matters. An Architect Unit, comprising of  One Chief Architect & Two Sr. Architects for Architectural Planning of Construction schemes, is also a part of the headquarter setup of  Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio.

The organization has one independent Training Institute located at Ist & IInd floor of Soochna Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 3. The institute is headed by a Superintending Engineer who works under direct control of Engineer in Chief, All India Radio, New Delhi. The institute handles the following three activities:


  1. To impart Training to the employees of Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio.
  2. To keep a check of quality control through its Quality Control Cell.
  3. To maintain the website of Civil Construction Wing, All India Radio.

At Zonal level, Superintending Engineer level Officers are assisted by Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers posted at various places depending upon the work load.
